The four days medical treatment of the Revival Flame Ministries commenced on Monday 23rd Aprol, 2012 at the Revival Flame Ministries compound, Revival Flame Avenue, Off Umule Road Aba, Abia State,Nigeria.
Each day started with praise, worship and prayer session conducted by Pastor John Agu
at the Flame auditorium. The essence of this session was to prepare and recharge the faith of the people before they go for their medical treatments. The President and founder of the Ministry, Rev Dr. Jeff Opara also used the session to pray and minister to them.
Some people testified of receiving instant healing during this session. Sister Chinenye Chukwuma who had pain before coming, testified of being healed as the man of God was praying. Also Mrs Chidimma Ikechukwu who had difficulty in breathing and walking and body pains testified that she got instant healing too. Some people who were not born again also gave their lives to Christ as altar call was made.
The medical team comprised ten medical doctors, twelve optometrist, thirty three nurses and pharmacists.
A representative of the Ministry of Health from Umuahia,Abia State Dr Orji who came on inspection, commended the programme.He said he was pleased with the quality of doctors and nurses present and also with the quality of drugs being dispensed to the patients. He said he will convey his observations to the governor. He suggested that such programme should be carried out again.
As the free medical treatments were going on, those whose cases were diagnosed to be spiritual were refereed to the prayer and counseling section where some pastors were on ground to pray and minister to them.
A cross section of the people interviewed expressed their joy. They said this was the first of its kind since they came to Aba and prayed God to bless the man of God and The Revival Flame Ministry for this loudable initiative.
Mrs Ujunwa Odede from Isiala Ngwa could not hide her excitement. She said she came with her son, Chinedu Odede, a student preparing for WAEC but has eye problem. The son was able to see the optometrists who examined his eyes and made prescriptions for him. She said all the drugs were given to the son free of charge.
Some of the medical personnel interviewed applauded The Revival Flame Ministry Int’l for the noble vision. Dr(Mrs.) Iheoma Urukwu of Abia State University Teaching Hospital commended Dr Jeff Opara for the initiative. She said she was overwhelmed with the turn out and suggested that a clinic be opened in the ministry to take care of those seeking medical attention.
Dr Sixtus Nwohiri from Imo State University, who is one of the optometrists at the eye section, said he was impressed with the whole arrangement. He said the patients that came to them were all attended to and prescriptions made according to what was diagnosed. Prescribed drugs, eye drops and eye glasses all provided free by the Revival Flame Ministry. He said those with major cases like cataract were referred for surgery.
A representative of the nurses, Mrs Ngozi Ibeawuchi(nee Uwandu) said she was impressed noting that Flame workers and other medical personnel were able to manage the enormous croud.
The Free Medical Outreach came to an end on Monday 3oth April 2012 extending from a planned 4 day to 7 days programme.
The Founder and President of the Revival Flame Ministries International, Rev.(Dr) Jeff Opara, on behalf of the ministry expressed his profound gratitude to all that rendered their service and called for assistance from ministries and other corporate donors in order to carry on with the vision. He indicated his desire to start Revival Flame Missionary Hospital.
